Meet Your Trainer
LaRae studied psychology at Augustana College where she assisted with training service dogs. With a vast understanding of both human and dog learning styles, she went on to become an accredited dog trainer with PetSmart where she trained hundreds of dogs of all breeds and backgrounds for two years before making her way to South Florida. From rescue mutts to purebred puppies, LaRae takes an individualized and positive approach to every dog's training. She has worked with blind, deaf, anxious, and traumatized dogs to overcome and cope with their unique challenges. She believes the key to effective training is teaching dogs and their human parents to communicate with each other. Whether you have a rowdy pup who needs to learn manners, an anxious rescue who needs help coping with their fear, or a perfectly behaved future agility champion who wants to hone their skills, LaRae cannot wait to help them on their training journey!
Obedience Classes
All Classes are Four-Weeks Long, Held Weekdays at 6:30pm EST
For puppies up to 6 months old. Learn how to confidently address those “puppy problems” while your fur baby learns the basics such as Sit, Down, Wait, Leave It, Drop It, Paw, Come, and leash manners.
For dogs aged 6 months and older. Learn how to confidently address those “teenage troubles” while your fur baby learns the basics such as Sit, Down, Wait, Leave It, Drop It, Paw, Come, and leash manners.
Done with the basics and ready for more? Canine College helps perfect the basics while teaching new skills such as Stay, Wait for the Door, Place, and the coveted Heel.
Specialty Classes
All Classes are Four-Weeks Long, Held Weekdays at 7:30pm EST
Want to learn some cute, impressive tricks that you and your dog can show off to the world? Think your dog is smart enough to read, recognize colors, and tell you a secret? Come teach your dog adorable cues with little-to-no practical application except to show off their smarts!
Does your dog struggle with mild to moderate anxiety symptoms such as whining, pacing, tail-tucking, submissive urination, hiding, or cowering? This class teaches you and your dog the skills to slowly but surely build confidence and tools needed to overcome everyday triggers such as separation, thunderstorms, and tall men with beards. A free Zoom evaluation is required before class starts to determine if this class is right for you and your dog. If anxiety is too severe for this class a full refund will be issued and LaRae will suggest behaviorists and veterinarians in the area more suited to your situation.
Does your arm hurt from your dog dragging you along every time you go for a walk? Wish you could enjoy going out with your dog without them lunging at every exciting stimuli? Spend four weeks learning the secrets to loose leash walking and heel to help you and your fur baby enjoy walking together instead of dreading the drag.
Need Some One-on-One Help?
Private sessions are available on Saturdays either online, in-home, or at a predetermined public space.
In-home appointments are available to residents of North Miami, Miami Gardens, Aventura, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and other nearby cities.
CGC Testing also available as a private session.
Payments can be made via Venmo, Zelle, or Cashapp.
FAQs
When is my class?

If you signed up for an Obedience Class(Puppy Prep, Basic Obedience, Canine College, or Model Citizens) your class will be at 6:30pm on the same weekday as your start date for four weeks. If you signed up for a Specialty Class(Anxiety Relief, Cutie Class, Runners Recall, or Leash Pullers) your class will be at 7:30pm on the same weekday as your start date for four weeks.
For example, if you sign up for the Puppy Prep Class that starts on Monday November 2nd, your classes will be every Monday at 6:30 for four weeks.
Where is my class?

Classes are held at my private residence outdoors in a fully fenced-in yard in the suburbs of North Miami, zip code 33169. For privacy reasons the address will be given to you after you check out via email.
What if it rains?

Classes are usually held in the front yard, but if there is rain or excessive sun we will move to the backyard where there is a roof to keep us dry and cool.
What are the class rules?

Prong collars, e-collars, and retractable leashes are NOT allowed in class. Please pick up any mess that your pup makes while on the premises. Dogs must be kept leashed at all times during classes. We are a positive-reinforcement and force-free facility, meaning there will be no hitting, punishing, “popping”, shocking/vibration, or yelling at your dog. LaRae has the right to ask you to excuse yourself from the premises if any of these rules are broken.
